Thanksgiving

This was the first Thanksgiving that I did not spend with any of my extended family. This was certainly not the original plan. We were invited to spend Thanksgiving with Jackie's in-laws and we were really looking forward to it. They are such a fun group! Unfortunately, we were so sick that we had to cancel. I actually had NO voice (a first for me). I couldn't even call Barbara (Jackie's MIL) myself to cancel. Mike had to call for me. I just felt so awful on so many different levels. But this Thanksgiving made me realize just how thankful I am for Mike. I could barely move. Mike, Connor and I were all on antibiotics and equally miserable. But Mike was determined that we would have Thanksgiving. He went to one of the open grocery stores late Thursday morning and purchased all the standards - turkey (although at that point, we had to make do with a pre-cooked turkey breast and leg), stuffing, cranberry sauce, potatoes and peas. Then he came home and made the sweetest meal I've ever had. The boys and I really have a lot to be thankful for knowing we have such a great dad and husband in our lives! We love you, Mike!
